Thomas Schreiner

New Testament Scholar

Thomas R. Schreiner is the James Buchanan Harrison Professor of New Testament Interpretation and associate dean of the School of Theology at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he has taught since 1997. He previously taught for eleven years at Bethel Theological Seminary and served as preaching pastor of Clifton Baptist Church in Louisville.

Schreiner is known for his commentaries on Romans, Galatians, Hebrews, and 1-2 Peter & Jude (BECNT and Pillar series), and for his Pauline theology in Paul, Apostle of God's Glory in Christ. A complementarian and confessional Reformed Baptist, he has been a steady scholarly voice on justification by faith, perseverance, and the unity of the biblical canon in The King in His Beauty.
