Thabiti Anyabwile

Thabiti Anyabwile is a Reformed Baptist pastor and author who serves as senior pastor of Anacostia River Church in Washington, D.C., a congregation he helped plant in 2017 in partnership with Capitol Hill Baptist Church. A former Muslim, he previously served as senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Grand Cayman and was an assistant pastor at Capitol Hill Baptist under Mark Dever.

Anyabwile is a council member with The Gospel Coalition and a longtime contributor to the 9Marks ministry. His writing engages the African-American church tradition, Reformed soteriology, and questions of racial reconciliation, justice, and complementarity in church life. Reviving the Black Church and The Faithful Preacher recover lessons from earlier black Reformed pastors for the present day.
