Soong-Chan Rah
Soong-Chan Rah is the Robert Boyd Munger Professor of Evangelism at Fuller Theological Seminary, a position he assumed in 2021. Previously he served for more than fifteen years as the Milton B. Engebretson Professor of Church Growth and Evangelism at North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago, and he was the founding senior pastor of the Cambridge Community Fellowship Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Rah is one of the most-read evangelical voices on race, the multi-ethnic church, and the recovery of biblical lament. His Prophetic Lament: A Call for Justice in Troubled Times reads the book of Lamentations as a needed corrective to American triumphalism, and his The Next Evangelicalism argues that the future of the church lies with the global majority and immigrant communities rather than with the Western white evangelical mainstream.
