Rick Warren

Richard Duane Warren (born January 28, 1954) is the founding pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, which he started with his wife Kay in 1980. Saddleback grew into one of the largest churches in America, and Warren handed off the senior pastorate in 2022 to Andy Wood after more than four decades of leadership.

Warren is best known for The Purpose Driven Life, a forty-day spiritual journey that has sold more than fifty million copies and become one of the bestselling nonfiction books in history. His earlier The Purpose Driven Church became the foundational text of a global ministry-training movement, and the P.E.A.C.E. Plan he and Kay launched mobilizes churches against poverty, illiteracy, disease, and corruption.
