R. T. Kendall
R. T. Kendall is an American evangelical theologian and minister born July 13, 1935, who served as Minister of Westminster Chapel in London from February 1, 1977, to February 1, 2002—a 25-year tenure that left a lasting imprint on the historic pulpit. After earning his BA from Trevecca Nazarene University, M.Div. from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Ph.D. from the University of Oxford, Kendall brought both evangelical conviction and scholarly training to Westminster Chapel's pulpit.
During his ministry, Kendall led Westminster Chapel to embrace emphases and practices of the Charismatic renewal, demonstrating his openness to the Holy Spirit's contemporary gifting. His 1983 publication Once Saved, Always Saved sparked important theological debate about Christian perseverance. Retiring in 2002, Kendall authored over 50 books, including the influential Total Forgiveness, and through his speaking and ministry has been regarded as a statesman of the UK evangelical church.
