Paul Putz

Paul Emory Putz is a historian and director of the Faith & Sports Institute at Baylor University's Truett Seminary, where he helped create the seminary's MA in theology and sports studies. His book The Spirit of the Game: American Christianity and Big-Time Sports (Oxford, 2024) won the American Society of Church History's Brewer Prize, and he writes on sports and faith for Christianity Today and The Gospel Coalition.
