N.T. Wright
Nicholas Thomas Wright (born December 1, 1948) is a leading British New Testament scholar, Anglican theologian, and former Bishop of Durham (2003-2010). He has held senior teaching posts at Oxford, Cambridge, McGill, and the University of St Andrews, where he served as research professor of New Testament and early Christianity, and is now senior research fellow at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford.
Wright is a central figure in the New Perspective on Paul and has authored a multi-volume series Christian Origins and the Question of God examining Jesus, Paul, and the resurrection within their first-century Jewish context. His more accessible works (Surprised by Hope, Simply Christian, After You Believe) have brought historical and theological scholarship to a wide lay readership, while his views on justification have sparked ongoing debate within Reformed circles.
