Lou Priolo
Lou Priolo (1954-2023) was an American biblical counselor, author, and conference speaker who served full-time in biblical counseling for nearly forty years. A fellow in the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and a member of the International Association of Biblical Counselors, he founded the nonprofit Competent to Counsel International, through which he trained pastors and laymen across the United States and overseas.
Priolo authored more than a dozen counseling books for P&R Publishing and others, addressing anger, parenting, marriage, conflict, and people-pleasing. He was also the editor of the Resources for Biblical Living booklet series. Within the nouthetic counseling tradition pioneered by Jay Adams, Priolo's writing emphasized practical, sermon-on-the-mount-shaped applications of Scripture to the specific patterns of sinful and suffering human hearts.
