Kristin Kobes Du Mez is Professor of History at Calvin University and the author of the New York Times bestseller Jesus and John Wayne, a historical account of how white American evangelicals fused conservative politics, militant masculinity, and church culture across the twentieth century. The book has been a flashpoint in evangelical debates over abuse, power, and political identity. She writes a widely-read newsletter on religion, gender, and politics.
