Julianne Schultz AM is professor emerita of media and culture at Griffith University in Australia and was founding editor of Griffith Review, which she published from 2003 to 2021. A fortnightly columnist for The Guardian, she is the author of The Idea of Australia: A Search for the Soul of the Nation and Reviving the Fourth Estate, and she was made a Member of the Order of Australia for services to journalism.
