Jonathan Leeman is the editorial director of 9Marks, a ministry founded by Mark Dever to recover biblically faithful church practice. He holds a PhD from the University of Wales (UK) on the subject of church membership and discipline, and serves as a teaching pastor at Cheverly Baptist Church in suburban Washington, D.C.
Leeman has written extensively on ecclesiology, congregational polity, the church-state relationship, and the public dimension of the local church. His books on church membership and church discipline are foundational texts within the 9Marks movement, and his more political work (How the Nations Rage, Political Church) has framed evangelical conversations about Christian engagement with public life.
