John Ortberg

John Ortberg is a popular evangelical author whose books on spiritual formation have sold millions of copies, drawing heavily on the work of his mentor Dallas Willard. He served for many years as senior pastor at Menlo Church before resigning in 2020 in connection with how the church handled an issue involving a family member; he has since launched the Become New teaching ministry. His writing on practical apprenticeship to Jesus remains widely read.
