John Mark Comer
John Mark Comer is a pastor, teacher, New York Times bestselling author, and founder of Practicing the Way, a nonprofit ministry dedicated to forming lifelong apprentices of Jesus. After serving as founding pastor of Bridgetown Church in Portland, Oregon for nearly two decades—during which he pioneered a church-wide emphasis on spiritual formation—Comer stepped away in 2021 to expand his teaching through Practicing the Way, which creates free formation resources for churches worldwide.
His books, including the bestselling Practicing the Way and The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry, articulate a vision of spiritual life centered on three goals: be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what he did. Through his teaching, writing, and ministry platform, Comer has become one of evangelicalism's most important voices calling believers back to contemplative spirituality and intentional discipleship, particularly resonating with younger Christians seeking depth over busyness.
