J.D. Greear

J.D. Greear is the lead pastor of The Summit Church, a multi-site congregation in the Raleigh-Durham region of North Carolina, and served as president of the Southern Baptist Convention from 2018 to 2021. Under his leadership the Summit has emphasized church planting, sending out hundreds of pastors and missionaries. Greear writes and speaks frequently on the centrality of the gospel for Christian growth and on the recovery of Great Commission urgency in local churches.
