Greg Boyd
Gregory A. Boyd (born June 2, 1957) is the senior pastor of Woodland Hills Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, and the founder and president of ReKnew, a ministry that engages questions of theology, suffering, nonviolence, and Christ-centered hermeneutics. He previously served as professor of theology at Bethel University for sixteen years.
Boyd is one of the most prominent contemporary defenders of "open theism" (the view that the future is partly settled and partly open, even to God) and of a strong Christian pacifism. His two-volume Crucifixion of the Warrior God develops a cruciform hermeneutic for reading Old Testament violence in light of the cross, and his earlier The Myth of a Christian Nation argued—controversially—against the fusion of evangelical Christianity with American political identity.
