Denny Burk

New Testament Scholar & Ethicist

Denny Burk is professor of biblical studies and ethics at Boyce College, the undergraduate school of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he also directs the Center for Gospel and Culture. He serves as president of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood (CBMW) and is an associate pastor at Kenwood Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky.

Burk writes on biblical interpretation, Christian ethics, biblical anthropology, and church-state issues from a complementarian and confessional Reformed Baptist perspective. His book What Is the Meaning of Sex? frames biblical sexual ethics around the telos of marriage, and his co-authored Transforming Homosexuality argues for the biblical possibility of change in same-sex desire.
