David Platt
David Platt (born December 11, 1978) is a Baptist pastor, author, and missionary advocate who founded Radical, a missions organization equipping believers to make disciples of all the nations. He served as senior pastor of The Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, Alabama (2006-2014), as president of the International Mission Board of the SBC (2014-2018), and as lead pastor of McLean Bible Church in metro Washington, D.C. (2017-2024).
Platt's first book Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream became a New York Times bestseller and pressed evangelicals to examine the comforts and compromises of American Christian discipleship. His subsequent ministry has emphasized the unreached peoples of the world, costly Christian generosity, and an unflinching call to surrender wealth, ambition, and security for the sake of the gospel.
