Darrell Cole
Darrell Cole is Associate Professor of Religion and Chair of the Department of Comparative Religion at Drew University, specializing in Christian ethics with particular focus on just war theory and the ethics of warfare. Holding master's degrees in philosophy (Ohio University) and religion (Yale University), plus a doctorate in theology (Duke University) and PhD from the University of Virginia, Cole brings rigorous academic training to the intersection of ethics and theology.
Cole's scholarly work examines the progressive development of just war theory from biblical foundations through medieval Catholic and Reformation theological traditions. His books, including Just War and the Ethics of Espionage and When God Says War Is Right, provide evangelical and broader Christian audiences with sophisticated theological frameworks for thinking about the ethics of military conflict, making him an important voice in evangelical political theology.
