D.A. Carson
Donald Arthur Carson (born December 21, 1946) is research professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, where he taught full-time from 1978 until 2018, and co-founder and president emeritus of The Gospel Coalition. A Canadian evangelical, he earned his PhD in New Testament from the University of Cambridge under C.F.D. Moule and has authored or edited more than sixty books spanning biblical theology, exegesis, hermeneutics, and Christian engagement with culture.
Carson is widely regarded as one of the most prolific and influential evangelical New Testament scholars of his generation. His commentary work (especially on John, Matthew, and the General Epistles), his rigorous defenses of biblical authority, and his pastoral writing on prayer, suffering, and the gospel have shaped seminary education and pastoral ministry across the English-speaking evangelical world.
