Cornelius Plantinga

Cornelius "Neal" Plantinga Jr. (born February 14, 1946) is a renowned Reformed theologian and member of the Christian Reformed Church who shaped evangelical and Reformed thought through his academic leadership and prolific writing. After earning degrees from Calvin College (BA 1967), Calvin Theological Seminary (BD 1971), and Princeton Theological Seminary (PhD 1982), he served as professor at Calvin University before becoming Dean of the Chapel and then president of Calvin Theological Seminary (2001-2011).

Plantinga is also president emeritus of Calvin Theological Seminary and an emeritus senior research fellow at the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship. His major works include Not the Way It's Supposed to Be (Christianity Today "Book of the Year" 1996) and Engaging God's World (Christianity Today "Book of the Year" 2003), while his more than 230 articles have appeared in Christianity Today, The Christian Century, First Things, and other leading periodicals, establishing him as a thoughtful voice in Reformed evangelical theology.
