Chris Buckley
Chief China Correspondent
Chris Buckley is the chief China correspondent for The New York Times, reporting on China and Taiwan from Taipei. Raised in Sydney, he holds a doctorate in Chinese studies from the Australian National University and spent seven years as a senior Reuters correspondent in Beijing. He was a finalist for the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for reporting on Xinjiang and received the 2024 Shorenstein Journalism Award.
