Andy Stanley
Andy Stanley (born May 16, 1958) is the founder and senior pastor of North Point Ministries, a network of churches based in Alpharetta, Georgia, with weekly attendance of more than 30,000. The son of First Baptist Atlanta pastor Charles Stanley, he founded North Point Community Church in 1995 and has become one of the most influential voices in American megachurch ministry.
Stanley is widely known for his communication style, his focus on "unchurched" people, and his attempts to reframe Christian preaching around relevance to seekers. His ministry philosophy and willingness to depart from traditional evangelical positions—on topics from biblical inerrancy to LGBTQ inclusion—have made him a polarizing figure: celebrated by pragmatists for his cultural reach and critiqued by confessional evangelicals for what they see as theological compromise.
