Andrew Kern

Education Advocate & Author

Andrew Kern is the founder and president of the CiRCE Institute (Center for Independent Research on Classical Education) and a pioneer in the classical Christian education movement. For decades, he has trained and apprenticed teachers, heads of school, and school boards while developing integrated educational resources and founding several classical schools including Providence Academy, Foundations Academy, and Regents School of the Carolinas.

Kern co-authored Classical Education: The Movement Sweeping America and created The Lost Tools of Writing, a foundational resource for classical rhetoric instruction. His vision emphasizes that educational change depends primarily on teacher formation rather than curriculum, leading to the development of the CiRCE Apprenticeship program around 2005, which has shaped classical education theory and practice across evangelical and mainstream Christian contexts.
