Alan Hirsch

Missional Theologian & Strategist

Alan Hirsch is an Australian-born author, missional church strategist, and serial entrepreneur whose work focuses on reactivating apostolic movements and equipping the body of Christ for cultural mission. He is the founding director of the Forge Mission Training Network, founder of 5Q Collective and 100Movements, and co-founder of the Wheaton College M.A. in Missional Church Movements.

Hirsch's books develop a five-fold ministry framework (the APEST/5Q model) drawn from Ephesians 4:11—apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds, and teachers—as essential for the church to recover its missional capacity. The Forgotten Ways argues that the underground Chinese church and the early church share six core elements (mDNA) that today's institutional Western church has lost.
